Dead animals
We respond to dead animals within two working days unless there is a health and safety hazard in which case we will deal with the issue immediately.
We do not deal with dead animals that are on private land. In these instances, we recommend you contact the landowner if you are concerned.
For more information see our Dead animals page.
Dog fouling
We clean shopping areas and town centres on a daily basis, parks are cleaned weekly and residential areas cleaned every two weeks.
Please note that we may not respond to all reports but they are useful in helping us to understand hot spots in the borough and areas where we can focus our cleaning resources.
For more information see our Dog fouling page.
Fallen leaves
Our street cleaning and local parks crews clear leaves on a regular basis between October and January. However this is dependent on the weather, if it is raining we may not clear areas where leaves have fallen.
For more information see our Fallen leaves page.
Fly posting
Fly posting is displaying adverts and other promotional materials without permission, on buildings, posts, walls, litter bins and elsewhere in public. Fly posting is mainly done by businesses and community groups that want free advertising.
For more information see our Fly posting page.
Fly tipping
Fly tipping is the illegal dumping of any waste on the street or road. Fly tips can range from a few black bags of household waste placed next to a tree or litter bin, to larger items such as fridges, mattresses, builders' rubble and tyres.
For more information see our Fly tipping page.
Graffiti
We remove graffiti from council maintained footpaths, roads, pavements and properties within three weeks. If the graffiti is offensive we aim to remove it within one working day.
For more information see our Graffiti page.
Overflowing litter bins
We empty litter bins in shopping areas and town centres daily. We empty litter bins in residential areas and parks weekly.
Street litter bins are provided in our town centres and along busy roads where more litter tends to be dropped. We continually monitor litter bin fill levels and increase frequencies wherever necessary.
For more information see our Litter bins page.
Overgrown grass
Our grass verge teams and local park crews cut the grass on public land on a schedule between March and October. However this is dependent on the weather, if it is raining we may not cut the grass.
For more information see our Grass cutting page.
Overgrown shrubs
We prune overgrown shrubs and trees as part of our weekly visits to the parks in Harrow during the period of November and February.
This means that our teams will only prune shrubs and trees across Harrow between these months but if you notice areas becoming abnormally long or dangerous during this period you can report it online.
For more information see our Shrub and tree pruning page.
Overgrown weeds
Our team carry out weed spraying twice a year. The first spray takes place between April and June and the second between July and September. However this is dependent on the weather, if it is raining we may not spray the weeds.
For more information see our Overgrown weeds page.
Playgrounds and park gyms
Our playgrounds and outdoor gyms are visually checked weekly by our local parks teams with thorough inspections taking place on a monthly basis.
