We can only provide certificates for life events that happen in Harrow. You can order certificates for:
- births
- deaths
- marriages and
- civil partnerships.
Ordering a certificate
To order a certificate, you will need to provide:
- full name of the person to whom the certificate relates
- date of the event: birth, death, marriage or civil partnership
- address of the event

To order a birth certificate for a birth at Northwick Park Hospital, you need to contact Brent. You can contact Brent's Register office.

Ordering certificates from the General Register Office
The GRO holds a central copy of all registrations for England and Wales. They issue all their certificates by post. To order a certificate contact the GRO.
You can find a full set of the GRO index at the locations below. You won’t get a certificate at any location. But, some offices may provide access to the GRO online service.

Microfiche copies from 1837
The microfiche copies show births, marriages, and deaths from 1837. They also have overseas indexes. You can find them at many local libraries and record offices. For a list of places where microfiche copies are held visit the GRO website.
Getting certificates legalised
On occasion you may need to get a certificate declared as genuine. This process takes place at the Legalisation Office in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. For more information see the GOV.UK website.
