Members of religious communities can apply for a Council Tax disregard if their main work is:
- prayer
- contemplation
- the relief of suffering
- education
- a combination of the above
The person must depend on the community for their material needs. They must have no income or savings. This will still apply if you receive income from a pension or pensions from a former job.
Apply for a discount for members of religious communities
You will need to provide:
- proof of membership
- proof of income
To apply for the discount you will need to:
- Download and complete the Application form
- Scan the completed application form and proof using a scanner or digital camera
- Send the scanned files using the Evidence form.
