Definition and purpose
The London Assembly is an elected body made up of 25 assembly members. Their role as a watchdog is to examine how effective the Mayor’s policies, decisions and activities are, as well as those of the Greater London Authority (GLA).
It champions London, investigating issues that affect everyday life in the capital. It seeks to find ways of improving the city for everyone who lives there.
