Ever thought of volunteering to make a difference?
Are you are reliable, non-judgemental, have good communication skills and are able to travel around the borough? If so you can make a positive difference in your community and we need you!
The Harrow Youth Justice Service is looking for volunteer Referral Order Community Panel Members. They organise working contracts with young people aged between 10-18, who’ve been sentenced to a Referral Order at Court.
Panel meetings bring together:
- the young person who has caused harm
- their parents/carers
- the victims of the offence
- members of the community
Together you’ll discuss the offence that took place. This provides support for the young person to take responsibility for their actions. Then, you’ll create a bespoke individual agreement plan of work for the Court Order.
We’re also looking for Reparation Workers to work directly with young people to give back to the community. The aim is to repair the harm of the offending behaviour by making amends. This engages the young people in interventions and reduces their risk of reoffending. The work is delivered within the community over a range of different projects.
Training and ongoing support is provided.
To apply you must be over 18 years of age and free from criminal convictions which preclude contact with young people. For more information or to request an application form please contact us via the details below:
