A memorial bench or tree is a nice way to celebrate and remember a loved one. We can provide memorial or sponsored trees and benches. These can be installed in our parks, open spaces, and on streets where suitable. You can also add a tribute plaque.
Requesting a memorial or sponsored tree
To sponsor a tree you will need to make a donation and complete a few simple details. When you submit a request it is sent to us and we will assess your location for suitability.
If your request passes, we will plan to plant a tree the following winter. This is the best time to plant young trees to ensure they grow and thrive.
Memorial benches
You can also donate memorial benches. They can be placed in many council-owned parks and open spaces in Harrow.
This is a nice way to leave a lasting memory of a loved one in a significant or favourite location. Memorial bench requests are subject to approval. More information can be found on our Memorial bench policy.
Requesting a memorial bench
Due to high demand, there is currently a waiting time of up to 12 weeks for new applications. To request a memorial bench you will need to tell us:
- the location where you would like the bench to be placed
- the information you would like to put on the plaque.
