The brown Garden waste bins help to dispose of biodegradable waste. Examples of this type of waste include:
- grass cuttings
- leaves and flowers
- shrub and bush clippings
- small branches and twigs.
Soil, mud, rubble, tree branches, and stones should not be disposed of in your Garden waste bin. Fallen fruit from fruit trees must go in your food waste caddy. See what you need to do on your bin collection day.
Subscribe to our Garden waste service
Our bin crews will collect your Garden waste bins every two weeks. Our bin crews will collect your bins from April 2024 to March 2025.
The service costs £69.00 for the year. You could get a discount if you currently receive Council Tax support (CTS). For resident in receipt of CTS the cost for the service is £34.50 for the year.
Subscribe to our Garden waste service
To subscribe to our Garden waste service, you will need to provide:
- your address and contact details
- your Debit or Credit card details.
What happens next?
- After you subscribe, you will receive a welcome email. This will include your membership number. It will start with 'SR'.
- You should remember your membership number. You will need to mention it to manage your services.
- You will receive a sticker to put on your Garden waste bin. If you subscribe before March, your Garden waste sticker will be sent out at the end of March. If you subscribe after March, your sticker should arrive in two weeks. The sticker will have your address printed on it, and is for your use only.
- You will need to put the sticker on your Garden waste bin.
If you have subscribed but not yet received your Garden waste sticker, let us know. You can complete our online form. To find the form, enter your postcode on our bins page and select the Garden waste tab.
Manage your Garden waste service
You can make changes to your Garden waste service online. You can view:
- your current payment method
- when your first collection was/will be
- when your final collection was/will be
- your Garden waste membership number.
You can also make changes to your Garden waste service, including:
- cancelling your service
- moving your service to another address in Harrow
- requesting an extra bin or a bin repair.
Enter your postcode on our bins page and select the Garden waste tab.
Need to report a missed bin collection?
We are sorry our bin crews did not collect your bin(s). You can report a missed bin collection if:
- it is after 5pm on your usual bin day and
- it is not later than 48 hours since your usual bin day.
Enter your postcode on our bins page. Then select the missed bin option under the bin that was not collected.

Request a new or replacement sticker
You can use our replacement sticker form if:
- you are yet to receive your sticker (according to the schedule) or
- your current sticker is faded or missing
To request a new sticker enter your postcode on our Bins page. Navigate to the Garden waste tab. Select 'Order a new or replacement sticker' from the list of options.
