Unlicensed Family Entertainment Centre Gaming Machine Permit

UFECs are unlicensed family entertainment centres. They have low-stake gaming machines that usually appeal to children.

A permit allows any number of category D machines. But, they must meet non-gambling rules, like fire and health rules.

You will need a MyHarrow account to apply for a permit in Harrow. If you do not have an account or this is your first time using this new service:

To apply for a UFEC Gaming Machine permit you will need: 

  • a method of payment for the fee of £300.

What happens next?

  • The permit is valid for 10 years, unless it is surrendered, lapses, or renewed.  
  • An application to renew your permit must be made 2-6 months before it expires. The renewal procedure is the same as making a new application and the same fees apply. 
  • There is no annual fee for UFEC gaming machine permits.

To submit a renewal application, you will need to register for a MyHarrow account and add your permit to your account.

  • How to add your permit to your account: Check your email for a message from noreply@harrow.gov.uk requesting you to add your permit. Follow the instructions in the email to complete the process.
  • Didn’t Receive the email? Please check your junk and spam folder. If you still can’t locate the email, complete a licence enquiry to update your information and request the email.
