Businesses in the activities on these pages will need to follow the new rules. Businesses will be assessed before the licence is granted to make sure they can meet them.

What you need to provide for an Animal welfare licence:

  • Premises plan
  • Insurance policy (public liability insurance. With a minimum cover of £2 million)
  • Operating procedures
  • Risk assessments (including fire)
  • Infection control procedure
  • Qualifications
  • Training records
  • Right to work (if applying as an individual)
  • DBS certificate (if applying as an individual)
  • A method of payment for the administration fee.

What happens next?

  • It can take up to 5 working days to confirm your application.
  • You will be contacted to confirm a suitable time for an inspection to take place. Issue and length of licence will be dependent on the rating of the inspection.
  • We will request the enforcement fee before a licence can be issued to you.

To submit a renewal application, you will need to register for a MyHarrow account and add your licence to your account.

  • How to add your licence to your account: Check your email for a message from noreply@harrow.gov.uk requesting you to add your licence. Follow the instructions in the email to complete the process.
  • Didn’t Receive the email? Please check your junk and spam folder. If you still can’t locate the email, complete a licence enquiry to update your information and request the email.
