On Monday 8 April work will start on the relocation of Harrow’s War Memorial.
For almost two decades it has played a pivotal role in the borough’s Remembrance Day service to pay tribute to those lost in conflict.
The memorial, made of granite, will be carefully dismantled by experienced stonemasons. It will be re-installed at its new home in St Ann’s Road, Harrow Town Centre. This will take several days and we’ll update you on when the works are complete.
The move of the War Memorial is necessary because of redevelopment plans for the Civic Centre as part of the London Borough of Harrow’s regeneration programme.
Once in place at its new location, the memorial will continue to be the focus of future Remembrance services. We'll share details of this year’s parade and service nearer the time.
