We’re giving residents better access to all the wonderful benefits of cycling.
Join us on Friday 9 August, 10am – 4pm, for our free community bike event. We’ll be at Harrow Town Centre, outside Nat West Bank on the High Road.
Get your bike repaired and marked for free by Cycle Confident. They’ll help to prevent bike theft and ensure your bike is road safe. Or if you're new to cycling and want to give it a go without committing to a full purchase, find out more about Try Before You Bike. The scheme gives you the chance to test out a bike for three months free while deciding if you want to buy it.
Alongside Cycle Confident, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) will conduct a live demonstration at 1pm, showcasing how they deal with a road traffic accident. Come along for an insight into the critical and life-saving work performed by LFB during emergencies. Greenhill Safer Neighbourhood Team will also be on hand to talk about crime prevention.
There is also the opportunity to meet our Transport Team who will be providing information about Harrow’s Long-Term Transport Strategy. Not only will you be able to share your views, you can find out more about our sustainable transport schemes.
Cllr David Ashton, Cabinet Member for Finance and Highways, said:
“This community bike event is one of many ways we are raising awareness of road safety and active travel in Harrow. Together with our partners, we’re looking at ways to reduce collisions and provide valuable resources to prevent future accidents.
“We want residents to enjoy cycling around the borough and if we’re encouraging active travel, we’ll do all we can to create a safer environment for everyone in Harrow. So please do join us for this informative and engaging event.”
