Davy House Car park on Lyon Road in Harrow town centre will no longer be managed by the London Borough of Harrow.
- Council lease of Davy House Car park terminated by landlord
- The council offer of one-hour free parking will not be available at this site as it will no longer be a council car park.
- Permits issued for Davy House Car Park will be valid for use in Greenhill Way car park.
The London Borough of Harrow will stop management of the site from 6pm on Friday 20 September. At this time, the council will stop taking payment for parking and the council offer of one-hour free parking at Davy House will end.
The council were in discussions with the site landlord about extending their tenure. On Friday 13 September, the landlord notified the council that their tenancy had been terminated with immediate effect. A new company will take over management of the site – which as a privately owned car park, the council will have no jurisdiction over.
Cllr David Ashton, Cabinet Member for Finance and Highways said:
“Due to circumstances outside our control, the council will no longer manage Davy House Car Park on Lyon Road. This is not what we wanted and we apologise for any inconvenience to shoppers, residents, workers or businesses who may be impacted by this change.
“The council’s offer of one-hour free parking while no longer available at Davy House, will continue to be available to all who live, work or visit the borough in our on-street parking bays and in council owned car parks”.
Parking permits issued for Davy House Car Park can be used at Greenhill Way Car Park until the permit expires.
