Five years ago we saw the start of the pandemic.
At a special ceremony yesterday at the Copse, The Grove Open Space, Harrow marked Covid Day of Reflection.
The Mayor of Harrow, Cllrs, representatives from the emergency services, Harrow Interfaith and others joined to remember those who lost their lives in Harrow and beyond. It was also a time to reflect on the tireless work by key workers and acts of kindness shown during this extraordinary time.
During the service, prayers were offered and wreaths were laid.
Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Salim Chowdhury said:
“The pandemic may feel like it happened a long time ago, but it still affects us all deeply. I was honoured to lead the Covid Day of Reflection on Sunday to remember those no longer with us and pay tribute to the extraordinary efforts of key workers in the health and social care services as well as the thousands of volunteers who showed incredible kindness and generosity during this unprecedented time. I’d like to thank everyone who attended.”
