Heritage at risk
Some heritage may suffer neglect or decay for a range of reasons. That which is nationally listed can be added to Historic England's Heritage at risk register if certain requirements are met. This can open up access to certain grant funding and can help ensure the matter is addressed.
Examples of these features include:
- Listed buildings
- Scheduled Ancient Monuments (SAM)
- Registered Parks and gardens and
- Conservation Areas
The register is updated each year.
Once a building, monument, or landscape is restored, it is removed from the register.
