Anxiety/mental health resources
You can find support on children's mental health from Young Minds'. The help is free via the parent helpline on 0808 802 5544. It's available from Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4pm.
There are different options for local youth counselling services: Youthaccess.org.uk
There is also a self referral form to Harrow Talking Therapies. They provide a range of talking therapies for anxiety and depression.
Exams
Public examinations and regular attainment tasks are available. This includes children in schools, colleges, and elective home education.
Access to exam centres for private candidates can be hard to arrange. However, the local authority may be able to offer some support. There is a section on EDYourself about exams and advice for parents, pupils and exam centres.
The parent has to pay exam fees. This includes registration, access to exam centres, and other fees including late registration. There are also deadlines for registration.
You also need to ensure that you follow the syllabus for the exam.

University Technical Colleges and studio schools
UTCs and studio schools are set up by universities and businesses. They specialise in one or two technical subjects. They admit pupils in Year 10.
In years 10 and 11 they offer a similar GCSE curriculum to typical secondary schools. This includes English and Maths, as well as specialist subjects.
