Harrow Parent Carer Forum

The Harrow Parent Carer Forum is a friendly, supportive community of families who have children or young people with special needs or a disability that live in the borough of Harrow.

They have a Steering Group of parents that have children or young people with special needs or a disability. They represent the parents of children and young people up to the age of 25 with any form of SEND or health needs, both pre- and post-diagnosis, including those in mainstream schools. They pass on their views to local professionals to help shape local services.

What does the service provide?

  • information and support to families with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • run events and consultations with speakers from a variety of  services across Harrow and outside the borough
  • seeks the voice and experiences of families and feed this back to professionals to help shape local services
  • visit special and mainstream schools and nurseries
  • local coffee mornings and encourage parents and carers to connect
