Be an ordinary person doing an extraordinary thing!
Some children are unable to be cared for by their own parents for a variety of reasons. Could you step in and help out?
Foster carers care for these children in their own home. This continues until the child can safely go back to their home, or to alternative permanent care. You could offer a safe, secure and warm home to a child when their own family is unable to.
The London Borough of Harrow is part of a new collaborative partnership of eight West London Local Authorities. They jointly recruit foster carers who provide safe, loving homes for children. This increases and enhances local placements for children and young people.
For the first time foster carers in our region will benefit from a united, single support hub. It's called Foster with West London, and backed by the Department for Education.
We're now joining forces with other local authority fostering teams across West London. Together we'll grow the number of fostering households and make a difference to our vulnerable children and young people.
As a foster carer you will receive support from Harrow's fostering team. Everyone is on-hand to support you from the initial application process and beyond.
