Empty property owned by a charity
A property may be exempt from Council tax if it is:
- owned or leased by a registered charity and;
- unoccupied
It can be furnished or unfurnished. The exemption can last up to 6 months.
You will need to re-apply each time the property becomes empty.
Apply for an exemption for an empty property owned by a charity
To apply you will need to:
- Download and complete the Application form
- Scan the completed application form using scanner or digital camera
- Attach the documents and enter your details on the Evidence form
