We provide street litter bins in our town centres and on busy roads where more litter tends to be dropped. We check the volume of litter in our bins and empty them more often when it's necessary.
We cannot respond to every report, but your reports help us to identify litter hotspots in Harrow. You can tell us if you have seen an overflowing or damaged litter bin.
You can also tell us if you want to recommend a location for new litter bins.
Before you start
To report a litter bin issue you will need:
- The location of the litter bin which requires emptying or fixing
- Any photos that will help our cleaning team prepare for the job.
How do we deal with litter bin issues?
- Litter bins in shopping areas and town centres are emptied daily.
- Litter bins in residential areas and parks are emptied weekly.
Our cleaning teams will empty litter bins on their next schedule.
Disposing of dog waste
You do not need to separate dog waste from other types of household waste.
Dog waste can be disposed of in any available litter bin. If there are no litter bins nearby, you should bag it and either take it home or to the next accessible bin.
Failure to pick up after your dog or any littering may result in an enforcement of a fixed penalty notice.
