Short breaks for children and young adults with disabilities
These short Breaks are for children and young adults with disabilities. These activities are fun and exciting. In addition participants can develop their personal skills and make some friends.
It also provides the parent or carer with a break. It allows them to spend some time on other interests, such as:
- being with other members of the family
- pursuing personal interests and education goals
- relax and recharge one's batteries
A short break may be for a few hours, an evening, overnight, or weekend activity. It may take place at home, in a paid carer's home, or in the community. However, it must provide the parent/carer with the opportunity to take a break from caring.
For more information view the short breaks brochure.
