This SPD gives an overview of issues affecting the areas. It also gives guidance for their preservation and improvement.
The SPD has six appendices, including:
- conservation area appraisals and
- management strategies.
They provide guidance on their special appearance. They also include ways to preserve and enhance the area's character.
The table below includes:
- maps of each conservation area
- information on any Article 4 Directions (A4D) that apply in that area.
A4D means you will need planning permission to carry out work in the area. For guidance on planning in conservation areas, see our A4D page.
